St Francis Xavier Primary School, Ballarat East, has a rich tradition of providing quality education and care for children from the city of Ballarat and surrounding districts.
With an enrollment of just over 300 students, our school has built a learning environment founded on fundamental values such as love, respect, forgiveness and trust, drawing on the inspiration and example of the Sisters of Mercy.
The learning environment at St Francis Xavier truly supports the academic growth of all children. Our school offers a quality learning environment, with many specialist areas, including visual arts, performing arts, music and LOTE. A comprehensive environmental education program immerses students in their role as custodians of the land on which we live.
St Francis Xavier draws on the research and development of the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria. Children have the opportunity to take responsibility for their learning, and to utilise appropriate learning technologies to support their learning. Parents are valued as active participants in the education process. Each class works proactively and creatively to deal with the management of student behaviour.
